Kia ora a me aloha e te whānau! My name is Sala and come from a massive ohana, spread across the globe, and am known to all my beautiful nieces, nephews, younger cousins as the “cool older cousin who travels” and “favourite aunty.” I’m on a work/study preparation pause as I’m looking to start my PhD this year. i’m open to any mahi, can and tutor Japanese, am accustomed to elderly care - having an elderly widowed dementia-ridden mum, and love teaching and sharing my knowledge and experiences with nā keiki. Look forward to meeting yous and your tamariki!
I’ve been taking care of kids for most of my life - starting with my baby cousins when I was 8 years old. I had 2 little boys, one who was partially deaf, that I looked after for 3 years regularly during my teens and am comfortable taking care of any age. I enjoy babies the most, though little kids (8-12) are also fun for me. I truly enjoy their mirrored childlike wonder at learning and encountering the world around them. My sister has 4 children under 6, and i’m comfortable with taking care of 1-3 kids at a time.
I first tutored for pay in primary school and have always used the skills well throughout my life. I’ve tutored and taught English to English Second Language Speakers and am also capable of teaching Japanese. I enjoy english literature, reading and writing comprehension, history, music, and geography.
