Kia ora tīma, I’m a young professional working in youth education and social services with multiple years of experience in teaching and childcare! I have a BA in education and social policy which I completed in May. I’m a passionate artist and musician, and in my spare time I paint, sew, and read extensively.
I have worked with disabled units between ages 13-30 teaching healthy relationship education and have disabled PD that I receive through my job.
I have taught in Intermediate and High schools for 8 years, have been an after school care teacher for 1.5 years, and work with youth aged 10-21 in my work. I have babysitting experience of 9 years and tutored maths, english, and history for 5 years. I have also taught piano for 2 years with 13 years playing experience. I am comfortable with all ages of children but I am wanting to be an intermediate school teacher some time in the future! Most of my experience with young people is in this age band, 10-13 years old, but I am competent and comfortable with children of all ages. I love childcare because I think young people have so much to offer and I love learning new things from them and being able to be part of their learning journeys!
I have been tutoring since age 15. In the past I have taught Maths, English, History, and have taught Piano. I received excellence endorsed at all NCEA levels and in all subjects (including Classics, History, Economics, Calculus, Physics, English, Music), and have a BA in Education and Social Policy, for which I was on the Deans list for academic excellence multiple times. My final GPA was 8.67/9 with an average grade of A+. I have tutored a range of ages and skill levels, but I am most competent in tutoring English skills and History skills.
