I am a 29 year old, single Mumma to the most beautiful little man - Koda (5 years old - oh no, he’s growing up too fast)! Through jugglestreet I am interested in nannying / babysitting, as well as helping out with the odd jobs and casual help for the more mature population where they require a little more help and company. After school care and holidays would be ideal for me, I’m more than keen to pick the kids up and take them somewhere as an after school activity, help with homework and potentially start dinner. Regarding my career experience I am a Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate, and I spread myself between public and private hospitals, also accident and emergency clinics around Auckland. On the other hand I am also a fitter / welder and spend most of my engineering time out at the New Zealand Steel Mill, in Glenbrook. I contract to both of these jobs, which has allowed me to be flexible regarding my family (son) time, as well as feeding my heart (nursing) and soul (engineering). Most of my nursing experience is in adults, but I have also experienced a good chunk of it in paediatrics too, especially at the Paediatric Emergency Department at Waitakere Hospital, and during my time as a rural nurse in Jandowae, Australia. In the accident and emergency clinics I also deal with any kiddies that walk through the door. My son, Koda, has taught me countless skills as a parent and as a person, and every day continues to teach me more. Koda constantly reminds me many a times to slow down and enjoy the moment, to just feed the soul and to nurture the mind. I raise him, and he raises me. I am a very outdoorsy Mum and person. We don’t do much screen time, and our week has a basic structure to work in with school, homework, life and play / skateparks. On our weekends we spend a lot of time at the playgrounds, with friends, or fill our time with things like arts and crafts, make-believe, reading books, cooking or baking, adventuring to near and far places, and generally following my son’s cues as he grows. We both also ride motorbikes. We have one little dog, Mr. Coco, and a tabby cat, Miss Ollie. The first few years in life are so important to how our brains wire themselves, and this is largely down to how our children are nurtured. Being able to nanny or babysit would allow me to offer a safe haven for parents / caregivers to trust in with their babies and children, and to be able to nurture them in times where parents need their own downtime or whenever they are required to be away from their babies and children. I am easily adaptable and would just love to provide care in the way that the parents / caregivers wish for their child to receive. It is important to be able to provide care that is unique to each family and resonates within the family values / beliefs. I feel like kids are truly magic. Whether they are the magic themselves, or they see the magic that we as adults can no longer see. But they are very much people to learn from. Regarding nannying and babysitting, I would ideally like to be able to involve my son during these interactions and care where appropriate or possible. I hope you are eager to bring me onto your team!
