Hi, my name is Deborah. I'm currently a teacher at an Intermediate School and I'm loving every minute of it! I grew up with 8 younger siblings, so I am very used to keeping young children entertained.
I started caring for a child with down syndrome about 6 years ago. A couple of years later, she started staying with me on some weekends to give her parents some respite. She really trusted me and I had so much fun with her!
I've been working with children for six years. I have done casual babysitting for children between the ages of 0 - 15 and have done nanny work for 3 different families. One of these families had 5 children. This kept me quite busy, but it was a lot of fun. I have a full drivers license and am more than happy to help with household tasks while I'm babysitting. I really enjoy being outdoors, particularly during summer. Often if I'm babysitting, I will take children to the park or arrange games that can be played outside. To me, babysitting is a way to have a slight impact on a child's life and I absolutely love it!
I have been an English tutor for two years and have tutored students between Year 2 - Adults. I focus on helping my students to develop confidence in reading, writing, and speaking, while keeping the lessons fun and engaging. I am university trained in English, Mathematics, and History. Although I do not currently do any Mathematics of History tutoring, I would be very willing to do so.
