Hi Mums and Dads, I’ve just left High School and am soon to be a student at the University of Auckland, studying a Bachelor of Health Science in the pursuit of going to Med School. I love kids and I love teaching them new things.
I have taken care of many young children in various situations. I have taught swimming lessons to children aged between 5 - 14, also having taught one physically and mentally disabled boy. During these swimming lessons I have been responsible for the safety of the children in and around the pool. I also volunteered at the Whangarei Diabetes Kids Camp, where I was responsible for children aged between 7 - 15, all of whom had diabetes. Helping these kids to inject insulin, making sure they were eating correctly and managing the group in a campsite (including at the beach) came naturally to me, and I pride myself on my ability to interact with and understand young children.
I have not done professional home tutoring previously. However I have tutored children in school, helping them to prepare for exams - my old high school, Huanui College, start giving students exams in year 7, and I would tutor children for these mock exams, as well as students sitting external exams, from Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations to Cambridge IGCSE. I myself have completed Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge AS, and NCEA Level 3, achieving well in all my subjects. In 2018 I completed NCEA Level 3, which I endorsed with Excellence. Despite my lack of home tutoring experience, I believe I have the knowledge of the subjects, as well as the ability to clearly communicate and teach students of all ages.
