Benefits of English tutoring

  • Having an English tutor means your child can go at their own pace. A tutor can spend the time explaining each area and ensuring their student grasps the concept before moving on to the next area.
  • English tutors are also in a position to add to their student’s study of English and introduce them to new literature, poetry, and theatre. This will encourage an interest in literature outside of their studies.
  • Having an English tutor can be a great boost to a child’s self-esteem. This is their opportunity to have one-on-one attention where there is no fear of being judged.
  • Reading and comprehension skills are particularly important when the time comes to sit exams. Having a tutor can mean the difference between struggling and succeeding.
  • Avoid being left behind in the classroom by doing revision with a tutor. This can ensure your child is grasping the curriculum and has the support to succeed.

Tutor Resources
Tutor Resources

There never seems to be a middle ground. Either you have hundreds of resources at your fingertips and can’t possibly choose which one to use, or you find it incredibly hard to get your hands on even basic resources. How can we find and choose the best resources for what we need?

Making a First Impression
Making a First Impression

It goes without saying that as a new tutor, you’ll want to make a good impression and see academic improvement in your students. However, wanting to be an effective tutor is not the same as having experience. New tutors without experience tend to make the same mistakes when they start out.
